CAKE COMPETITION

By Reporters: Calvin and Ryan

Today  Martin Goodfellow of Goodfellow and Stevens, the famous Dundee bakers, has visited this school for a cake-making competition. As part of "Design and Make" element of their course.

Our second years were busy making and decorating cakes with little animals on them.

They were helped by Sally Townson, a student of Abertay University who was in her 8th week of a 10 week work placement with the school.

Sally Specialises in cake decorating using fondant animals to decorating using fondant icing, and she is tutoring our young people to make lovely animals.

The winner of the first judging was Amy, The judge was really pleased with her cake he said it had a good range of colour and the animal was very carefully made and with good concentration.

The judge also said it was very hard to decide because they all had such good decorations and there was another three that he would have chosen but Amy's stood out the most.

He chose Amy's because if he had put it in a shop it would attract lots of customers.
