Hugh Clark, of Rosyth in Fife, has been sentenced to eight and a half years for the brutal knife attack of Ena Thomson and her son.

Ena, Nathan’s mother was stabbed repeatedly on the head, neck and body before Nathan jumped onto Hugh Clark’s back which allowed his mother to crawl away from the attack.

9 Year old Nathan is reported to have said in the Daily Record Newspaper “He stabbed me in the face and It was agony  ... Blood was everywhere”.

His proud parents were full of praise for their son. His mother  Ena, 35, who was rushed to hospital said “It’s the bravest thing I’ve ever seen, a wee boy of nine tackling a grown man armed with a big knife to protect his mum”

Lord Brockie Said “Nathan was a very courageous young man indeed as he tried to save his mother from the assault.
