Partnership with Healthy Transitions

Baldragon Academy pupils have been working in partnership with The Corner as part of their Healthy Transitions (Peer Education) Programme for a number of years now.

The group is run by Christine Greig and her team.  Second year pupils are selected annually following an application process and in discussion with Guidance staff members.

The 26 pupils follow a 6-week intensive training programme every week after school which enables them to be well versed in such topics as Transition from Primary to Secondary School, Alcohol and Drugs so that they can teach our P7 Feeder Primaries as part of the ongoing and developing Transition Programme.

Throughout the process pupils develop a range of transferrable skills in preparation for the world of work and they get a real sense of achievement at completing the programme.  All participants have the opportunity to achieve a Dynamic Youth/Saltire Award for their work.
