National Healthcare Weekend

Just a reminder about a previous article gone out via twitter about the National Healthcare Weekend happening in Stirling 23rd-24th March.

This is available to any interested pupils in years S3 - S5.  



National Healthcare Weekend


Doctors, dentists and vets will provide invaluable insight and network with pupils.


Day 1: Insight into Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary

14 unique talks for each specialty looking at experiences from A Levels/highers, throughout university and leading to life as a fully qualified professional.


Day 2: Medicine only UCAS Lectures

A full day of lectures covering work experience, personal statements, interview techniques, etc. led by our team of doctors.



Registration starts at £25. Students from low-income backgrounds and teachers can attend for free. I have attached a flyer for you to circulate.

Dundee College Open Days

Dundee and Angus College has open days coming up in January. Information below on dates and times.

Please save the dates for the 2019 Open Days in January:


·         Tuesday 15 January – Gardyne

·         Wednesday 16 January – Arbroath

·         Thursday 17 January – Kingsway

The timings will be about 2pm – 7pm each day to allow a range of target groups (e.g. school groups, individuals, parents after work, etc.) the chance to attend.

Psychology in the Real World

You are warmly invited to attend the Psychology student poster conference on Thursday 6 December from 1.15pm to 2.15pm at Abertay University.

The posters are about issues in the real world and how psychological research may help to resolve them. The event is of interest to all pupils not only those who wish to study Psychology at university.

The conference will be held in our Events Area behind the main reception desk (just beyond the main entrance, revolving doors on Bell Street). 



Casting Evening at Dundee College (Arbroath Campus)

The Dundee and Angus Hair and Beauty Department would like to invite you along to an evening at our Arbroath Campus on Thursday the 29th November between 4pm and 6pm.

ARE YOU AN ASPIRING MODEL? If so we may have an opportunity for you! 

Our VTCT level 3 make-up artistry students are looking for models to work with them for upcoming photoshoots. 

Looks can range from body art and avant-garde to fashion and catwalk looks. 

All looks would be professionally photographed and the images can be provided to build your own modeling portfolio. 

If you are interested we would like to invite you along to our department in Arbroath Campus on Thursday the 29th Novemember between 4pm and 6pm.

If they are under the age of 16 we would require a parent/guardian present on the day but we can then obtain written consent for any future dates that they come in.

ACES Art Initiative

ACES is a nationally funded initiative based across the four art schools in Scotland.

Their role is to "encourage, educate and empower senior-phase pupils to consider careers and higher education in art, design and architecture"

There are numerous programme of events and 1-1 support to helps pupils to explore their options, create a competitive application and develop a strong portfolio of work.
