Developing Young Workforce Music Session

As part of the DYW programme the music department is organising sessions with professionals from the world of work to speak to our S4 - 6 pupils. This will give our pupils the opportunity to explore careers available to them within the music industry .

Sound Engineer

Our first session took place in the recording studio at Dundee and Angus College where our Music Technology pupils were given an insight into what is involved in the music technology industry.  Chris Kidd from the college spoke about qualification requirements, places to study, the value of work experience and many other aspects of being a sound engineer in a recording studio as well as in live performances.

Over and above this pupils were able to experience a professional recording studio and devloped their skills about mixing and editing tracks.  These skills can be utilised in their own course work for their National and Higher Music Technology assignments.
