Supporting Local Charities

In the lead up to Christmas we supported two local charities . If you were in the LRC at any point during that time you would think that we were storing  lost property. The school collected over 50 unwanted coats and jackets which were given to the “donate a coat” scheme. The coats were then distributed to those in need of a warm coat this winter.

Pupils and staff also raised money during Book Week   Scotland to help support a scheme run by Waterstones, Dundee City Council and Literary Dundee, who aimed to offer a moment of festive cheer and personal enjoyment to the young carers in Dundee. It was a way for people to gift a book to a young  person who have a caring role. There were gift tags on a tree to choose from but the scheme was so successful that there were no tags left so we chose books which will be kept at the Young Carers Centre. Two pupils and members of staff went down to Waterstones to pick the books and hand them over for delivery.
