Welcome to Physics
Physics contributes to many fields of research and employment e.g. development of new medical equipment and treatments, car safety and design, all engineering disciplines, communications etc.
Studying physics encourages pupils ask questions about the world around them. Especially the who, what, where, why, how and when of things. Asking questions leads to better learning and the interest to go and learn, and keep learning for themselves.
As a department our aims are that
Pupils enjoy working in the physics department
Pupils are encouraged and supported to achieve their potential
All pupils who study physics achieve a qualification
These aims are supported in a department where pupils are provided with opportunities to use modern computer software, data handling devices, modern text books and all sorts of experimental equipment.,
