Music Department trip to London

Music Department takes 40 pupils to London. Read more about it in the report from Ellen Leslie (S6) and Jessica McGregor (S6).

This year our music department took 40 pupils from S4-6 to London and the trip was a massive success. The pupils left early on Tuesday morning to take the 12 hour bus trip down to London where many fun filled activities were waiting for them. The trip included a tour of Drury Lane Theatre, an opportunity to go on the London Eye, a visit to the Houses of Parliament and a tour around the BBC studios. As well as these fantastic activities we had a 2 hour tour of London visiting the main sights.  In the evenings the pupils were treated to performances of the award winning shows ‘Matilda’ and ‘The Jersey Boys’. Bob was particularly inspired by ‘Matilda’ and called the pupils “maggots” for the rest of the trip. One of the highlights of the trip was seeing the amazing actress Meryl Streep attend the premier for ‘Suffragette”, however Miss McKelvie’s cartwheels to celebrate a pupil’s birthday were a close second!
